Community Pastimes has recently started up a brand new "Movie Mornings" club in Horden for our clients.
Our Minerva House Day Centre has recently purchased a state of art projector and surround sound system that allows us to have the 'big screen' experience, in the comfort of our own homely surroundings.
Whilst Community Pastimes is primarily a community based service, this new club allows our clients to come together, make new friends and enjoy something different. Edna Bell, Senior Support Worker at the service stated:
"We are all really excited to be able to offer our clients something new. For the first Movie Morning, we collectively decided to put on a showing of Calamity Jane, followed by an afternoon tea for the ladies who attended. It was lovely to see our clients singing along and enjoying the movie, and most importantly making some new friends. Everyone had a wonderful time, and we can't wait until the next meet up next month!"
Movie Mornings will happen once a month, with a wide range of movies being shown. We even hope to do some special, one off, themed events!
