We have a wide range of properties available throughout the Hartlepool and Stockton area, including almshouses and private rentals.
The Hospital of God has Almshouse properties in Greatham, Norton, Hartburn and Stockton.
From apartments to cottages, we provide supported housing in a friendly and caring community, where older people are encouraged to live full and active lives.
Our Almshouses are generally available to people who are over the age of 60, who are able to live independently and who have a clear financial or social need for the support we offer.
Support is provided by the Almshouse Team, who assist people to live independently. Through calls and visits, the team monitor and maintain people’s wellbeing. They also encourage and help people to participate in the local community.
The Hospital of God owns about 76 houses in Greatham and these are available to let to the general public. They are not part of the charitable work of the Hospital of God but form a part of the charity’s investments and are therefore let at commercial rates.
The Hospital of God allocates properties on the basis of its ability to provide a suitable house for the applicant and the suitability of the applicant as a Hospital of God tenant.
