The Trinity Gardens Almshouses became part of the Hopsital of God in July 2010. Since then we have converted most of the old bedsits into a smaller number of one and two bedroom flats, refurbished the residents’ lounge and the corridors, built a scooter store and fitted walk-in showers. We now have 15 one bedroom flats, 6 two bedroom flats and 4 remaining bedsits.

The Almshouse Lead and Almshouse Support Worker supports residents to live independently and all the flats are connected to the local authority emergency call system. There is also a lively social scene with activities and events for those that wish to take part.

Trinity Gardens residents occupy their homes under a licence to occupy and pay a contribution to the running and maintenance costs. This is called the weekly Maintenance Contribution and is paid instead of rent. Included within this contribution is all maintenance, heating, gardening, service charges, water rates and staffing.

Subject to an individual’s financial circumstances they may qualify for housing allowance from the local authority.

Eligibility

The Trinity Gardens Almshouses are for people over 60 years of age. We assess the needs of applicants and try to match them to the property. We also take into account family, social and financial circumstances.
